For those who do very little driving, plan to have your fuel filter changed every two years. This ensures the filter is always free of clogs.
Oil
As we mentioned in the introduction to this blog post, the oil filter gets changed when the oil gets changed. Depending on the type of motor oil you use, this mileage duration is anywhere from 3,000 miles to 10,000 miles. A dirty oil filter can damage your engine by leaving the contaminants that the oil picks up in it. It can also affect your vehicle’s emissions.
Transmission
Finally, another bonus filter is a transmission filter. Not every vehicle is equipped with one. If yours is, the plan of action is the same as it is with an oil change. In other words, every time you get your transmission fluid changed, the transmission filter will also be changed.
